Programme
Sheridan Meadows’ philosophy focuses on providing safe, challenging and flexible programs designed to meet the individual and diverse needs of each child through play and discovery. Children learn by experiences through their senses. They look and see; touch and feel; listen and hear; smell and taste; sing and talk, move, and interact with others. Children’s brains are like a sponge — soaking up information.
With this in mind, age-stage developmentally appropriate programs are important, remembering that each child is an individual with individual skills and abilities.
Sheridan Meadows groups are Nursery, Toddler, Junior Kindy; Kindy/pre-school. Some before/after school and vacation care for school aged children is provided on occasions.
For the older children, the programs are structured to meet the children’s interests, skills and abilities.
Regular Activities Available
Indoor and outdoor activities
Sometimes children have nothing to show you, but their day will have been full. Maybe playing in the sand pit, engaging in water play, climbing the outdoor equipment, or quietly playing with puzzles or board games. Maybe he or she may have been quietly reading, or listening to a story or singing and dancing. Throughout these activities your child becomes coordinated, skillful, develops balance, and learns basic math concepts, concentration and expressing through song and dance.
